Loulu - DoN’T aSK

This project came with a very simple, yet clear brief. Three colours, and use mixed media to create a collage style lyric video.

I had previously emulated a collage style using vectors and text in After Effects, but this time I wanted to take it one step further and use real materials.

Every element is made from either, my own scribbles, old magazine cut outs, and different types of paper I found around my home (with a few Adobe stock pieces to help me out!)

Using my own materials allowed for a lot more flexibility when creating the video. It allowed me to play around with ripping up paper, crumpling it for texture, and designing scribbles using different types of pens and pastels.

I kept the animation on a low frame-rate to keep it feeling organic, and used looping textures on the backgrounds to keep things dynamic.

I really enjoyed getting stuck into this one, and stepping away from the computer to try something new!
